    Each year, on the first Monday in May, the Metropolitan Museum of Art ball – the most anticipated fashion event of the year – has a different costume theme, and last night, was honouring Japanese fashion legend Rei Kawakubo, creative director and founder of Comme des Garçons. Andrew Bolton, the Costume Institute’s curator in charge told Vogue : “Rei Kawakubo is one of the most important and influential designers of the past forty years.
